Villefranche sur mer

A famous spot in scuba-diving and freediving history, the bay of Villefranche-Sur-Mer is a must-see for all ocean-lovers.

We like to call it the birthplace of modern freediving, ever since a group of Nice-based friends founded the first freediving federation in 1992: AIDA.
Since then, many records and world championships have been organized in this protected and very deep spot, the perfect playground for freediving practice.

This bay was also the stage for the first saturation scuba-dives with Commandant Cousteau’s team.
